Save the date, this year's summer fair will be held 2-6pm Saturday 5th July. This is one of our biggest events and we really need some help organising it. What Does Family Mean To You? - Mind.org
We are inviting you to participate in a special creative initiative this May in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week (13–19 May) and International Day of Families (15 May).
The project is a chance for pupils to reflect on a vital topic through art and writing:
Through this campaign, we aim to celebrate love, diversity, kindness, and emotional wellbeing by encouraging young people to express what family means each individual.
Here’s how your school can get involved:
- Children are invited to submit a drawing or short written piece exploring the theme - what does family mean to them?
- Submissions should be sent to beth.cameron@childrenindistress.org.uk via email by Friday, 23rd May, 5pm, along with a completed parent/carer consent form included in the attached campaign pack.
- One entry will be drawn at random to win a Family Day Out Experience( details TBC).
- Selected entries will be showcased on our website, social media, and in charity publications like VISION.
Every participating school, community hub, and organisation, will receive a digital certificate of appreciation, and most importantly, will play a role in helping children build empathy and self-awareness in a positive, creative way.
