Temple Chorister information for Y3 children
Temple Church Choir is renowned for its high quality performances and membership is by audition in the early summer term. Singing in a choir is a wonderful opportunity for children to receive specialist musical training and to perform alongside professional adult musicians. We are now recruiting girls and boys in year 3, to begin singing in year 4 in September.
Unlike many similar choirs in Cathedrals around the country which require boarding or attendance at one particular school, our choristers attend several schools across London, coming together after school to make a unique team. The choir rehearses and performs after school and does not get in the way of school timings. Many former choristers have gone on to achieve prestigious music scholarships at secondary schools and university.
Being in the Temple church choir is a fairly serious commitment for children and their families but extremely rewarding. Membership comes with a generous scholarship and everyone receives specialist musical tuition. Alongside the core musical skills, choristers develop skills in confidence, reading, public performance, self discipline, teamwork and responsibility through their round of performances and rehearsals.
